The Royal College Group of 70, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Army and HelpAge Sri Lanka, successfully executed a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project on 11th January 2025. This initiative aimed to support underprivileged villagers in Cheddikulam, Tantirimale, and Neriyakulam by providing essential groceries, medical assistance, and eye care services to approximately 400 individuals. Additionally, the project included school renovations, creating better facilities such as washrooms and converting a classroom into a library and computer room.
The project achieved significant milestones, including distributing 117 grocery packs, screening 204 individuals for medical issues, and selecting 27 senior citizens for cataract operations. Community engagement was further fostered through the distribution of clothes and support for orphaned children, enriched by entertainment and personal contributions like a refrigerator and a sewing machine.
The Sri Lankan Army’s logistical expertise and HelpAge Sri Lanka’s medical services played a critical role in the project's success. This CSR effort demonstrated a strong commitment to community welfare and set a benchmark for impactful initiatives, leaving a positive and lasting impression on the beneficiaries.
